Is this an AI estimate?
It’s AI-assisted and professionally reviewed. Our AI tools read the documents, take off quantities and cross-check them. Our cost professionals price the work and review it before delivery. Every quantity links back to the sheet or spec section it came from.
What’s the difference between a bill of quantities and an estimate?
A bill of quantities lists the work items, units and quantities. An estimate adds prices and cost. You can order a bill of quantities without prices to collect bids, or combine it with an estimate.
Can you work from an existing bill of quantities?
Yes. Order pricing, a quantity check, or both. We keep its structure and item numbers and report the discrepancies separately.
How are prices set?
From the pricing sources and cost data agreed for the project, such as relevant cost databases and cost data you provide. Assumptions are recorded in the estimate. For contractor bids, overhead and profit are set with you, and you approve the prices you submit.
What documents do you need?
PDF drawings, specifications and any bill of quantities, with a description of the work and the deadline. You can start with a call or a short description; we’ll tell you what we need to quote the work.
Who checks the work, and who is responsible for it?
Ladder is responsible for managing the work and the agreed deliverables. Your proposal names the reviewing professional and the scope of their review.
How much does it cost and how long does it take?
Fee and delivery date are set after we review the documents and scope, and agreed before work starts.
What happens when the drawings change?
We check the new revision against the previous basis and define what needs updating. The scope, fee and schedule of the update are agreed before we do it.
